rachel + clint | austin wedding

A couple of weeks ago, I shared Rachel + Clint's wedding feature over on 100 Layer Cake. I also said I'd return the following week to share more. Well, that was kinda a lie, as two weeks later I'm finally sitting down to do just that.

Anyway, I just loved this wedding and figured is worth sharing in a bit more detail!

The backstory: Rachel, an Aggie, + Clint, a Longhorn, were both from the Austin area and held it near and dear to their hearts. Rachel recently moved to New York, while Clint stayed in Austin. After the wedding, Clint made the big move up North to join his new bride. The Monday, following the proposal weekend, Rachel called us. She needed a quick meeting with us before she jumped plane back to New York. They hired us on the spot. And we were stoked! We knew this wedding was going to be super detailed and styled to the max. Did I also mention they were planning their wedding in 3 short months?! Needless to say, the two needed some serious help, considering no venue or vendors were yet selected and Rachel, after all, lived in NEW YORK CITY.

The plan: In college, Rachel was known for her lavish dinner parties she'd throw, inviting guests to devour foods that the typical student wouldn't appreciate! So, on Saturday, the two planned to wed at a local church and then wanted to find an intimate venue for their 75 guests, where, with Royal Fig, they planned a 4 course plated meal. They had their eye on Malverde, but, no surprise here, the space was already booked for a corporate holiday party. (Which quickly became a common problem with other locations in December.) But I wasn't worried. See, I've been in love with this place called Palazzo Lavaca for a long time. My goodness! If you haven't seen or heard of Palazzo Lavaca, you better read up on it, it's a total gem. Megan is the manager of this amazing home and she will bend over backwards making sure your day is absolutely perfect. Back to the wedding-- one more person over 75, wouldn't have worked with our layout, but BOY! did we pull off one stunning cocktail and dinner party!

So, that was night 1. Night 2 was a larger reception for 150 guests. Going for a truly Austin feel, I took them straight to CTC Gardens. This, too, is a hidden wonder in East Austin. The Peached Tortilla even set up shop and served guests straight out of their trailer. It couldn't have been more Austin! The guests danced the night away to a crooner cover band and reveled in the beauty and love of Rachel and Clint. It was spectacular!

Night 2: Reception for all
